On this small but growing site, we have a few folks that graciously spend their time helping One-18th become somewhat of an interesting, fun, in-depth look at action figures of the 1:18th scale.

I’ve found that I ramble nonstop, as anyone who has read my reviews can tell. And, I typed up this autobiography that covered my toy collecting history. Then I decided to nix it, as you probably only look at the pictures anyway, Carlos. Anyways, my collecting basically started with Star Wars. Moved on to G.I. Joe, and LOVED them for all they could do and come with. As a normal child, I had all kinds of action figure stuff…Masters of the Universe, Transformers, Go-Bots, Silverhawks, Visionaries, Captain Power, loved it all. But Joes and Star Wars were my focus. Great size to be able to move and the vehicles they came with were AMAZING (okay, and some not so amazing: Coastal Defender). Anyways, I quit in high school, and early college until I discovered EBay, and it was all over once again.

After collecting a variety of toys, I decided that I really wanted to focus on the scale of figures, so that they could intermingle. I LOVE DC Universe Classics figures, I dig Transformers, I WISH they’d put out Silverhawks again, but, for my dollar, I don’t think I can get the playability and depth that I can with 1:18th scale figures. And now that Marvel, DC, Mezco and others have taken interest in the scale, I can get all KINDS of figures in the same scale! I just recently found another love of this size of figure, Microman (yes, true Microman fans, I know they’re 1:1 scale, but bear with me…they’re the same size), which really put it over the top. I love all these action figures, and think it’s great they all are (comparably) the same size and scale. It’s awesome! I still dabble in various toy scales, but 1:18th is where it’s at, man.

God help my wife, she’s married to a plastic crack addict.

Let’s see where do I begin? To be truthful I try not to talk about myself too much, modesty I suppose. I started collecting 1:18th figures back in the 1970’s with Fisher Price Adventure People, shortly there after a little film called Star Wars came out and with the toyline accompanying it I was hooked on the scale. My tastes run the gambit of whatever has found its way into my favorite scale. Several years ago I joined the GI Joe community and began doing Diostories. At first I attempted semi-serious ones but found my true love was comedy (mostly) and eventually created the ongoing series Toxie’s 1:18th Universe.

I am married with three daughters, the oldest 20 with a son of her own which makes me the first grandparent in this community as far as I know. My middle daughter is about to graduate High School (possibly as Salutatorian) and is getting ready for college. My youngest is about to earn her Junior Black Belt in Kenpo Karate.

I recently quit a mid management job to return to college and get my degree in Communications which has turned out to be the best decision of my life. Also I myself am close to earning my Black Belt in Kenpo Karate (at the tender age of 38).

Beyond toys I am an avid comic reader (my current favs being Green Lantern, Star Wars Legacy, and Walking Dead) and a huge fan of Sci-Fi and Fantasy (my favorite works being Lord of the Rings and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy novels as well as many works by Ray Bradbury among others).

So while that isn’t everything that gives you some highlights of the one of the people who writes up reviews for this site.
